Did you get picked for a case to be a juror on? Just wondering! So far, I've enjoyed your blog and based on the comments you've written, you have a good sense of humor. I'm sure this blogging assignment will be easier on many of us once we get the hang of it, like what to write about.

I didnt get picked to be on the jury, but only because I had to take my mom to the doctors on a day that would have been during the trial so the excused me.. yay!

ok back to the handouts. They were pretty much right on.

assessing personal workstyle:
DISC
I got highest in interacting followed by directing. Being that I work in a classroom. I find this to be exactly what I do from day to day. My husband got steady and cautious...he's an accountant, need I say more? haha!

Tiger Assessment of Presonality Type:

This test stated that I am an extravert, intuitive, a feeler, and a perceiver. I think that basically sums me up pretty well. My husband on the other hand got introvert, sensers, thinker and at leat we share this in common...perceiver. Though, If i had to do the test for him, i actually see him as a judger, just based on the test.

NLP Style:

Again, telling me things that I already know about myself, but still intresting to see on paper. I'm very kinesthetic followed by visual.

Barriers to Communication:

Environmental: One common one that I can identify would be the media. It is all surounding and though it may not be focused on, it is in everyones everyday life. The influesce can very in degrees, however it is almost unavoidable.

Verbal: Some of the verbal barriers that I have encountered would be language barriers (mainly when trying to speack spanish or when others are speaking "broken" english)as well as slang.

Interpersonal: As far as my interpersonal barriers goes I believe that I tend to assume and try to read between lines when there is nothing to be read.

I can minimize potential barriers in my own communication with others by understanding and accepting that not everyone thinks and communicates the same way.
